Free gusset plate DXF

Any angle from 30° to 120°, any leg from 30 to 200 mm. The solid corner gusset is a free flat DXF for laser or waterjet, with a concave cove in the corner sized to clear the weld.

Need it rated? The UL truss gusset replaces the solid web with a truss sized to the material: 66 rated parts at 45°, 60°, 90° and 120°, in S275 steel, SS304 stainless and AL6082 aluminium, from 1.38 to 29.46 kN.

02

Rated UL gussets · and the free blank at each size

66 rated parts · 4 angles · 7 legs
45° rated 3.44 to 29.46 kN14 rated parts
60° rated 2.72 to 25.49 kN17 rated parts
90° rated 1.38 to 26.38 kN21 rated parts
120° rated 1.38 to 14.02 kN14 rated parts

A rating opens that UL part in the configurator. A part number on the right opens the free solid blank at the same angle and leg. A dash means no rated UL part at that size: the free blank is still there. Rated for the corner-opening case (one welded leg fixed, an in-plane pull on the other), static, at a factor of safety of 1.25.

Need it rated on paper?

The free DXF is the solid blank. The rated pack is the UL truss gusset and its proof: the STEP solid, the rated drawing (A4 vector PDF with the load-rated data block) and the FEA report (stress, deflection, factor of safety, buckling and the method).

Questions

Is the gusset DXF really free?

Yes. The solid gusset blank downloads as a flat DXF at any angle from 30° to 120° and any leg from 30 to 200 mm, with no sign-up and no payment. The rated UL pack (STEP solid, rated drawing and FEA report) is the paid part, R175 including VAT.

Is the free solid gusset rated?

No. The free DXF is geometry only. The rating belongs to the UL truss gusset in the paid pack, where the solid web is replaced by a truss and the part is solved by finite-element analysis.

What is a UL truss gusset?

A corner gusset whose solid web is replaced by a truss, sized against the material's own proof stress. So the aluminium gusset is not the steel one in a lighter metal: its members are wider, in proportion to its lower proof stress.

What does the rated load mean?

The rating is for one stated case, the corner opening: one welded leg fixed and an in-plane pull on the other. Closing, twisting and out-of-plane loads are not rated. Static loads only.

Why does a longer leg sometimes rate lower?

On the same plate, a longer leg is a longer lever on the web, so it can rate lower than the size below it. It reaches further and welds longer; it does not carry more. The table shows each rating as published, so check the figure, not the part number.

How thick is the plate?

Thickness follows the band L/20 to L/5 of the leg, snapped to the nearest stock plate. The rated drawing prints it.
