Why this one is different
- 1Starts from the gear in your handOutside diameter, tooth count and plate thickness: a caliper and a count. The engine works out the module and any profile shift itself. There is no diametral pitch or module table to look up.
- 2Rated, not just drawnMost gear generators stop at the outline. Every gear here carries a torque rating for root bending and for pitting, worked to ISO 6336 methods. The lower of the two is the one published.
- 3Rated for how you cut itLaser, waterjet, wire EDM, hob or shaper. The speed rating follows the accuracy of the process you choose. A thermal cut is rated at its ISO 9013 roughness, on a tooth thinned to the edge of the cut tolerance.
- 4The method is checked, not assumedThe ISO bending method was checked against our own finite-element model of the tooth root, from 14 to 90 teeth. It came out on the safe side at every count.
- 5Says no, and says whyIf a gear cannot be cut or rated, you are not given a guess. The generator tells you which number to change, and what to change it to.

How are these checked? The methods, the validation and what we deliberately do not claim, for gears and sprockets alike.
